The Wynn Medical Center Research and Education Institute (WMC REI) is committed to advancing medical knowledge and practice through research and education for students, residents, and fellows. 

The institute offers a wide range of teaching and research activities, both onsite and online, encompassing topics from medical and pharmacy education, meta-analysis, clinical outcomes, to healthcare leadership. 
 

Long-Term Goals:

  1. Addressing Healthcare Workforce Shortage

    • Develop and implement innovative training models to expand the healthcare workforce and improve patient care.

      • Establish Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner (APP) Training programs to enhance the role of pharmacists in clinical settings.

      • Implement the TNT Fellowship Training, focusing on interdisciplinary education for primary care psychiatry and other critical fields.

    • Foster interdisciplinary training initiatives that integrate various healthcare professionals to create a more collaborative and efficient care model.

  2. Re-Inventing Treatment in Autoimmune Disease Manifestations

    • Conduct research on novel therapeutic approaches for autoimmune conditions affecting the skin, joints, and other systemic organs.

    • Explore new treatment modalities that target disease pathophysiology with improved efficacy and reduced adverse effects.

    • Establish clinical trials to assess the effectiveness of emerging therapies and precision medicine strategies in autoimmune disorders.

  3. Applying Artificial Intelligence in Rheumatology and Dermatology

    • Develop AI-driven models to enhance the identification and assessment of immune system function and dysfunction in skin and joint systems.

    • Utilize machine learning and computational techniques to analyze immune response patterns and predict disease progression.

    • Integrate AI-assisted diagnostics and personalized treatment planning to optimize patient outcomes in immunology and autoimmune diseases.
